Makes one wonder just how fast the old buffalo runners picked up accurate paper patching:
between shooting, skinning, running lead bullets,
and scouting herds.
The West Texas plains held buffalo and Billy Dixon,
stretching from the Kansas border to the Llano Escatado and the Raths.

Sometimes the camp tinder would cast and/or reload after pegging and drying hides and fixing meals. Although I have never seen a patch template in any of the tool sets or reference books I'm sure they existed.
