lost okieThanks gentlemen, I appreciate it.
I very seldom hang onto a knife; maybe a prototype or something such; but I am going to stock a rifle in some of this tree and am saving back a piece or two of handle material to go with it. not the most spectacular wood but I took from tree to here, so it's just mine.
Why is it called Flea Hill?
Does Oklahoma loose a lot of walnut trees every year to tornados?
How did you decide on the length of that fingerguard?

lost okieLindy;
sad to say but we call my little niche here; "flea hill". When I bought the place there were so many fleas here that even the exterminators wanted extra pay.
This tree died standing for some reason and I took it upon myself to try to get some wood from it.
Very little walnut around here, this area has been logged nonstop for a hundred years.
The finger guard just arrives to it's spot; I just grind 'em till I like 'em.
some days they look different than others!
