ScottSQueen pocket knives??
Anyone hear of a company called Queen? They make traditional styled pocket knives. Anyway, I hear they use D2 steel for the blades, just wondering if they are worth a damn.

They are a very good quality knife, esp. the older ones.

ScottSNow I am bit confused. One post says they are over priced pieces of crap. The second post says they are good knives.
How do the new ones compare to the new Case knives?

richjNot crap... just a bit too hi $$ for what you get. I prefer the new german bokers or Case knives which cost less.

ScottSrichj,
What are the issues with them?

youngoutdoorsScott, If you want a good Queen get an old one off of e-bay. I had rather have an old Queen than any new knife out there today. God Bless, Louis

kolob10I've have a couple Queen fixed blade in D2. They are not as stiff as I like but quite serviceable and take an edge well. Don't get caught up in the type of steel without regard to the heat treating quality. One can have a great steel and improperly heat treat and end up with junk. Likewise, I have a couple older fixed blades that are 440C that are great blades due to proper heat treating.

mbyohI have a Queen D2 stag two-blade folder. It is well made and the stag is pretty, but the blades are thin and D2 can be brittle. I snapped the tip off the main blade and was not prying with it.
That said, they are nice knives.

SlamFireI am of the opinion that Queen pocket knives, and their Schatt and Morgan series, are the finest American made knives since the 60’s.
The fit and finish are just fantastic on these knives.
Queen is using D2 steel and AST 34 in the Schatt and Morgan. These are excellent steels and mine are properly heat treated.
The edges are so hard that I was unable to reestablish a decent edge till I found diamond sharpening stones. I am totally ashamed that I thought these knives were “soft”, but in fact, with India stones, all I was doing was rounding the edge.
I like the fact these are American made knives. I am happy if my cash feeds and clothes an American worker.
