Redwood Burl Drop Point Hunter
My latest effort, a drop point hunter with Redwood burl scales. This is the first knife in a set of five knives I was commissioned to make.

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I don't have GWB's knack for photography!

As an aside, I have been re-reading the works of Bob Hagel. Although his books are somewhat dated, there is still a lot of sound information contained in them.

Thanks for looking,

Lee

Lee,
If you will permit me,
a bastardization of the old bromide,

"Those that can't, preach. (or in this forum, take photos)

Those that can, do.

You're makin' blades that not only look fine, but work fine as well.

Can't fault that. tu2

Best,

I like it. It's easier to take a nice photo than to make a nice knife. Keep doing what you're doing Lee.

lost okie
Lee;
I agree with the rest of them. Nice piece; should work well.
Knives; guns; whatever; do the best you can. My pictures are pretty bad too!
As GW and Forrest alluded to; out in the world talk is cheap. Only the folks who can do better get to chunk rocks!

The scales I purchased for the knife in the first post on this thread were very wide, so I was left with enough material to do a second smaller knife. To entertain myself while the epoxy cured on the first knife, I ground a Small Drop Point Hunter and used the remainder of the material on it. I gave the gentleman that commisioned the original knife "first crack" at the smaller knife. Below is his set of knives.

Yes he is! It's me!

Have been a knife lover for years and am really impressed with Lee's work. I asked Lee to make knives for my daughters as birthday gifts since they have no interest in rifles. A quality knife is something they can keep forever.
Lee chose a wood with the same first letter as their names. Of course mine is first. My name is Rob so I have Redwood on my knives. The skinner was a nice bonus. Can't wait to receive the knife and will report back here soon.

My daughter Toni is next. Lee has chosen Tamarind for the handle.

Thanks for the confidentiality Lee. Appreciated. I'm bringing my name and the prodject public so feel free to discuss any and all matters on this forum. The group may like to hear your wood selection for the other handles.

That's a cute idea...
I have 4 daughters (and a son). They're all married with children now but I've had custom knives made for each of them for their first big game hunt.
They'll use and cherish them forever.
There's always an appropriate occasion for a new knife!
