<wksinatl>VARGET - which primers?
I am loading for a Jeff Hicks built SWS rifle in 308. Other than the standard "try them all" answer, do you guys have better results with a certain primer using VARGET? I know GREEN788 is convinced that the CCI BR2's are the way to go. I aleady have some 210m's and WLR's and will try them. How 'bout it guys?
BTW, I will be using Lapua brass, both 168gr J4's and 168gr MK's, and 175gr MK's.
Thanks for your replies, Keith

PecosWhile I don'tuse Varget in a 308 class cartridge, I use it in a 22-250AI, I have found the Fed 210M primers give me the most uniform ignition.
At least for what I load, mostly 22-250AI, 6.5-06AI and 300 H&H.

m700Federal 210m "match" primers work well with Varget in my .308 Win. Excellent groups, even at 600+ yards. Guy

redialI've had only OK results with VarGet in .308 with WLR primers. Not bad, but ...
In .223 heavy bullet loads, many of the more knowledgable shooters are shying away from the WSR in favor of the CCI with VarGet.
I haven't experimented much beyond that, having found useful loads with other powders in those applications.

RemvssfI have had great groups with CCI200 primers. I use to load with Fed210M but in the last 2K of reloads it has been all CCI200. Especially w/ VarGet and VV550 and lately Benchmark.

ThomasIm shooting a 175gr Match king over a healthy dose of Varget In my 7.62X51.
My primer of choice has always been the Fed 210M. Accuracy is excellent with this combination well past 600m

RupI'm using Varget in 22-250 and .308 in 500yard competition. I have found from keeping good records that the CCI200 or CCI BR2 have given me the best results with Varget.
