458RugerNo1458 Win Mag: Great plinking load...
In my two 458's at least this load is very pleasant to shoot and gives great groups. For most any North American big game it should also do very nicely...
405gr Rem JSP (seated to rear cannelure using Lee Factory Crimp die)
67.0gr IMR-4064
CCI250 primer
W-W cases
Out of my 458 Ruger M77 it clocks 1915fps and it's a tack-driver. Recoil is very modest. No pressure signs whatsoever.
Total cost per round = .40 cents
Great for plinking at steel and rocks, coyotes, jacks, and during hunting season deer, elk, hogs, black bear, etc. The more you can afford to shoot, the better you'll be, so I like this combo.
