Thanks to the AR board for the 7x57 Load
I had completed my 7x57 Mauser rifle and was looking for the recommendations. By searching through the AR forum, I found numerous references to the 7x57, including powder/load and bullet combos. Based upon popular opinion from this forum, H414 was the powder of choice, a powder I had not worked with before.

So a purchased a pound and gave it a try, slowly working up loads and tuning the rifle as I went(needed to be bedded with up pressure on the barrel) I finally settled on the perfect load for my rifle. This load is 49.5 grains of H414, with 160 grain Nosler Partitions for an average velocity of 2768 fps. Also, it shoots very well. 10 shots went into a 1.25"x1.6" box and that is just fine for me and my hunting needs. I must admit to trying numerous other powders IMR 4350, Imr 4320, H4350, Norma 204, Reloaders 15 & 19. But none could beat the H414 for accuracy and velocity.

Thanks again to all who contribute to these pages.

I like that powder with my 7x57 and 140 grain ballistic tips. Great combo.

The H414 is pretty versatile works good in a .243, .30-06, .375, 9.3x62, and .220 Swift. I use the 7x57 160 Nosler partition load at 2817 fps for almost everything.

I have also made the switch to H414 for my 7x57 based on the opinions I have seen on AR. It simply seems to work better than my old faithful IMR 4350. Now I need some load recommendations for my 257 roberts with H414.

H-414 works great in the .270 with 130 gr bullets.

Bama7x57,
If I ever get my old brain to function when I have the data in front of me, I'll get you some info on the 257 and H414. You can email me to remind me if you want to.
