exabit340 Wby, 250gr bullets, and N560?
Hi,
Has anyone loaded their 340 Wby with 250gr and heavier bullets using Vihtavuori N560 powder?
I have a lot of loads with Norma MRP, but I've acquired a can of N560 and I'd like to give it a try.

cal30 1906If I can bend your ear on this one I always use
RL-19 for this load.
250 at 2900-3000 fps but the recoil is nasty.
FWIW

exabitThanks.
A chap in Sweden gave me printouts from QuickLoad for my specific rifle and bullets, with N560.
Seems like it's almost impossible to exceed 2950 fps with a 250gr bullet no matter which powder you use.
Although it might be different from rifle to rifle of course.

I chronogrophed the factory Weatherby ammo that I bought at the time and it was right on the money for fps.
A guy with a 30" canyon busting barrel can hit almost 3175 fps.
recoil is fierce...
They load them Hot!

Norma use a special powder for the Weatherby factory ammo which "isn't available to the consumer", as they say themselves.
Maybe this explains the added velocity.
