Based on the 5.7 FNH case necked to .17cal.

20gr V'max AA1680 9.5gr=3460fps.

very accurate and destructive on prairie dogs to
250 yards.

This is very near the same size as the HMR
only it's reloadable.

I have thought this might make a fun small rifle cartridge, either in the original .22 caliber or necked down. Now that I have a .17 Hornet, I don't think I would have a need but glad you are enjoying your rifle. What kind of rifle did you chamber for this round?

Savage chambered the 5.7x28 for a little while. I always wondered why they dropped it. It seemed like a neat little varmint cartridge.

I have two.

Cooper M-38 single shot now, was clip.
Wouldn't feed.
and a reworked NEF HMR, don't go there!
lotta hassles to work thru. Plus they won't
handle the loads a bolt will.
