richjWhat's your 338WM load for 250gr.
I have some VLD 250gr pills from Midway, only slow powders in the house are 4350, 4831, H4831sc, 7828. This is for a Blaser.
What ya got.

buckeyeshooterI have never fired a VLD bullet, however my 250 grain load for hunting rounds is 72.2 grains of H4831 in a winchester case with a federal 215 primer. Shoots nosler and barnes xlc bullets under an inch at 100 yards. This is a max powder charge, work up.

Have you every chronographed that load and what is you're barrel length?
Thanks

richjQL says 110% filled: 2611fps @ 60,500psi, 22" bbl.

buckeyeshooterBarrel length is 24 inches, chronos 2656 and groups at 3/4 inch at 100 yards.
I have used 68 gr imr 4350 and 250 gr sierra btgk with good success. That was one of Jim Carmichel's favorite loads. Daryl.

mustbhuntn68 gr IMR 4350 and 250 gr hornady = 2575 fps in my 24 in barrel. Good load.
74 gr AA3100 and 250 gr Hornady= 2700 fps.
Fairly accurate but kicks like hell.
I use the first load and wouldn't hesitate to tackle any North America game with it.
Happy hunting.

TumbleweedAlso 68 gr. of IMR-4350 with 250 Nosler Partitions. Very, very accurate.
Alternate load is 70 gr. of H-4831 with 250 Partitions. Also very accurate in my old Sako.

swampshooterI shoot 67grs. of IMR4350 behind a 250 Nosler partition with a federal 215 primer. This load really gets their attention. PS. 68 is too hot in my rifle.
