You could bump that up to about 61 grains, according to Speer. Velocity with that powder is about the best you can do, but there are a few others that get a few fps faster.
I like the Barnes X flat point bullets in my 45-70 #1. I use RL7 with the 300 grain bullets. Performance is awesome.
