Re: Need load for old 6,5x55 Mauser w/ Norma powder
Thank you for the info, I allready tried last night, after reading the Norma loading manual, where you can find loads for 100grs and 139grs I decided to try just what you are suggesting MRP 48grs. Went out to the shooting range last night fired some rounds at 100meters and 300meters, looks good

By the way this is a Carl Gustaf.

I'd try N204 first. I haven't used the 125 gr mentioned, so I can't really say for sure. I do know that most modern 6,5x55 rifles perform better (accuracy) with N204 and 8 - 9 g bullets than with MRP. Still m/96 has a longer barrel...

Good luck!

I disagree with the statement that 204 is better for accuracy than MRP, MRP usually works better and for 140-156gr bullets MRP-2 (49-50gr max loads) is actually a very good choice.

I haven't tried bullets heavier than 140gr but as the original question was about 125gr bullets I figured that my N204-tip would be valid.

You shouold be a lawyer...

Well, the MRP works better for me with 120-129 gr bullets also, both for accuracy and velocity. MRP can actually be used for all bullet weights from 100gr - 156 gr succsessfully. For practice and for lighter bullets than 120gr I usually gor for Vihtavouri though, N150 or N160.
