12.9x50.8jdjT/C 35Rem
My favorite shooting handgun is my T/C Contender in 35 Rem. Nothing fancy , just great shooting.
200 gr sp, 36gr IMR 3031 cci 200 primers.
This will punch nickle size groups all day at 100 yards, if I do my part.
Happy shooting
Fred

Quinn McCarthyI like a 200 gr Hornady Spire Point with 40.0 gr. H322. It drives tacks. Pretty simple too.

HobieI like the 200 gr. Hornady RN with 40 gr. H322 as it is accurate but every once in a while a bit "sticky". I've been thinking H4895...
BTW, I've got 2 .35 Rems, a Contender and a Remington Model 8. While I now keep the ammo separated, it would be nicer if reloads could be used in both guns.

<Peter>Geez Quinn, where did you get that load from? My 2 Hogdon manuals list 33.something as the max for H322 with a 200 gr. bullet, for both a rifle and a pistol load! You are about 20% over the max and you didn't even say so!
Peter.

Quinn McCarthyYa I forgot to mention that I worked that load up from the manual. I cannot remember where I got it from but I think it was the Contender reloading manual with data from several sources. I have not had any signs of high pressure at 40.0 but 41.0 was a different story. There I had flattened primers. I have a 14" bull barrel on the gun.

W. WilsonAn old Sierra manual I have has the max for the Contender at 42 gr. of H322 with a 200 gr RN. I worked that one up, of course, and that has been the basis of my loading with several bullets lighter and heavier (modifying the charge weight) since '82. My frame is still tight and case life is decent.

W. WilsonOh yeah. 42 gr. and 200 grain Hornady spires work fine on my original frame and 14" barrel but 40 is max for my other frame and a 21" carbine barrel.
