.300 Weatherby loads
I enjoy loading for the .300 Weatherby more than any other cartridge. Here are my two favorite loads:

Powder: 84 grains IMR 7828
Bullet: 180 grain Swift Scirocco
Brass: Norma trimmed to 2.815"
Primer: Federal 215M
OAL: 3.56"

Powder: 91 grains H1000
Bullet: 165 grain Hornady SP or SST
Brass: Norma trimmed to 2.815"
Primer: Federal 215M
OAL: 3.58"

I have tried several powders, but I like IMR 7828 the best. It seems to work with almost anything in this cartridge.

What's your favorite loads for the .300 Weatherby?

Sounds like you enjoy that 300 Weatherby. Those look like good loads that you have listed. I have had mixed results with IMR 7828 in my own 300 Weatherby. My rifle just seems to shoot best with 180 grain bullets and either H 4831 or RL 22.

My current load is:

Powder: 81 grains RL 22
Bullet: Nosler 180 grain Partition
Brass: Remington
Primer: Fed215M
OAL: 3.65"

In my .300 Weatherby -- a Remington 700 Limited Classic with 24 in. barrel -- I consistently get 3200+ f.p.s (nearly 3300 sometimes) with 180 gr. bullets and 86 gr of IMR 7828; and 3000+ f.p.s. (nearly 3100 sometimes) with 200 gr. bullets and 83 gr. of IMR 7828. I use Remington brass and Federal 215 primers. These are quite hot loads, but they are OK in my rifle.

I think that accuracy may tend to be better with one of the 4831 powders (IMR or Hodgdon) but velocity of max loads will be lower by about 100 f.p.s.

I'm currently loading this for my wife's uncle's Weatherby Mark V with a 26" barrel.

Norma factory brass
Fed 215
81gr. H-4831SC
180 gr. Speer Grand Slam

Shoots 1" groups @ 3150fps and I am on the third loading for this lot of brass with no signs of high pressure. This load works like lightning on elk for him.
Hope this helps,
Elk Country
