My favorite load for my 35 Whelen:

60gr Reloader 15 under a 225 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullet. Accurate enough for a hunting load at 1 1/4" with velocity over 2700fps.

Also, the Federal Premium load with a 225 grain Trophy Bonded bullet shoots 3/4" three shot groups in my rifle with velocities at 2690fps. If you haven't tried this one in a Whelen, you should.

The rifle is a Weatherby Vanguard with a 25" stainless Shilen magnum weight barrel. The whole gun is teflon coated and sits in a Bell & Carlson synthetic stock topped with a Weaver 3-10 Grand Slam scope. Trigger has been reworked also. The whole kit & kaboodle weighs in at 10lbs fully loaded.
