Loads for 6.8 Rem?
Looking for favorite loads for 6.8 Rem. I picked up a Contender rifle barrel recently. I also got some Rem brass and a box of Barnes TSX 110gr bullets. Anyone have a good load worked up?

This is going to end up as my daughter's first deer rifle (she's 10). I was looking for low recoil and enough energy to kill whitetail deer out to about 150 yards. I'm not really looking for varmint loads. I might also be trying the Sierra Gameking's in 100 gr (or 110 gr, I forget which).

Thanks.

The 2007 Hodgdon Reloading Guide (magazine) has a great article on loading the 6.8 Rem. SPC. If you don't have it, you might want to pick up a copy. ~ Marc

H335..my load is 29.0 grs with the 110 Sierra. Has worked well on the couple of deer i shot with it. I was using the same powder with the 110 TSX..but H322 shot better with it. 28.5 grs...i think that was my load..dont have notes in front of me. The TSX is an awesome bullet.

Exit hole, shot at about 50 yds..2550 FPS @ muzzle.

Ive only take 3 deer with the TSX, but that is what all the exits have looked like.Smiler

Hope this helps a bit. Big Grin

My state doesn't allow rifle calibers for deer hunting so I can't help in that category. Frowner

I have just started reloading for my T/C Contender 23" rifle barrel and have only tried H335 with 110gr V-Max bullets that shot a 0.375" 5 shot group at 50yds recently. Big Grin

I have also tried AA1680 with Hornady 100gr Spire Points which worked well too. Smiler
