<5-R>5-R barreled .308
Hey there...newest guy to the forum. I will be picking up my new .308 in a week - a special run (order # 29663)with the 24" SS 5-R barrel. The guys at Remington tell me that the unique rifling profile/contour and 1:11.24 twist was "...optimized for the M118 Ball ammo". That's nifty and all, but if I want to "roll my own" do you know of a source for loads tailored to this rifle?

EremicusMike Lau's book, The Military and Police Sniper, discusses this barrel and loads.
Basically it is just an excellent .308 barrel with an 11 inch twist. Designed for a touch more spin with the Sierra 175 gr. MatchKing, if I remember right. E
