168 gr. barnes tsx
Has anyone tried the 168 tsx in Tikka t-3 ?(300 winnie) I have had a heck of a time finding anything that fits the mag. box , and still shoot under an inch .The only one I have found is 180 ppt nos. part. ,really good ! Because of it's shape . Mag. clip is short & throat is deep .Wanted to try the 168 , but didn't want to waste $30.00 to find out it didn't work .

Can't help with the Tikka thing but have a few bullets around here and can tell you the distance from the ogive to the bullet tip, starting with the 168 TSX

168 TSX - .581"
180 TSX - .570"
200 TSX - .573"
200 Nosler Partition - .640"
165 Trophy Bonded - .566"
200 Accubond - .630"
180 Accubond - .630"
165 Northfork - .568"
180 Failsafe - .537"
180 Scirrocco - .667"

So if you wanted to get as close to the lands as possible and still fit the mag, the 180 FS is shortest, followed by the 165 NF and 165 TBBC, and the 180 TSX is shorter than the 168.

My 300 likes the 180 gr TSX better than the 168 or 200 anyway, with 76 gr RL22 and .03" from the lands

Hope this helps.
