I use 72.5grs of H4831sc. It is not the fastest but is .5moa from my Savage. It is perfect for our Texas white tails.

Gerrydick,
Perfect! Thanks a million; this is just the right kind of info I was looking for - I have some H4831sc and will give it a try.
We're on a mind meld here, I don't need the "fastest" most often either - just good, accurate loads.
I'm sure it'll be "perfect" for a Czech Forester on his Wild Boar, Sika & Red Stags also.

Andre MertensMy pet hunting load in .300 Win Mag is :
Sierra 165 GK / N 160 / 73.5 (CCI 250). Either the softer SP or harder HPBT may be used, according to needs. It shoots 5 into .65 MOA out of my Blaser R93.

GerryThx André,
I looked at your previous thread and already have your pet load of 73.5 grs of VVN160 on my short list!
Using the Sierra HPBT vs. their SPBT can you provide an OAL, please?

Andre MertensGerry,
My ctg. OAL is 88,5 mm. However, I don't pay attention to this dimension as I seat my bullet 0,5 mm from engaging the lands (NB : in this rifle, other ones may and do vary). Same seating die setting is used for SP and HPBT GK, their ogives being the same.

swampshooterSuperbly accurate out of mine using a max. load of IMR 4831.
velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.
