Calif. HunterI got the best accuracy with Remington RN Corelokts and IMR-4064. I have not used the Sivlertips in reloads. I think a RN lead softpoint in the most classic! (Other than a lead bullet...)

RDubHi
With 30-30's I have always had the best results using H-335. I give me the best combination of accuracy and velocity.
Why do they call it common sense, when it is so uncommon??

jstevensTry some RL15, about 34 grains with a 170 grain bullets. I shoot Hornadys in my 94. With a good peep sight, these go into 1.5 in. at 100 yards and are 2130 fps.
A shot not taken is always a miss

22WRFwhere are you finding the Silvertip bullets?

rxmooreFor the last 10 years or so, I've been using 170 grain Speer FPs over 35 grains of BL-C(2). It's a grain or two below the published max, but it shoots 1.5" groups out of my Marlin 336CS, so I can't complain much. I don't have a clue as to what my MV might be.
I have 100 of the old 170 grain flat point Silvertips that I'm hoarding, but I can't figure out what I'm hoarding them for. Maybe I should load 'em up.

cal30 1906I always shot 35-36 grains of IMR4350 with a
150 grain Hornady round nose , it shot best from my Marlin but i also used the 170 silvertip
with 27 grains of H-322. they both shot well.

Swamp_FoxGraff's had a free brochure of IMR powder loads.
For a small booklet it has a lot of info.
I suspect they are available at other reloading centers.

MThuntrI use 34grains of Varget with 150grs Hornady RN. So far that has been a good load for me out of my Marlin levergun

North6132.0 of IMR 3031 is a classic load with 170's
I wish you'd try RL15 32.5 grains with 170 Win PP give me genuine 1" groups out of my wifes Stevens 325. Velocity about 2070 out of a 20" barrel and Ican move to 34 grains at max pressures and 2150ft/sec. Accuracy doubles but is still good.

SSTI load W-W brass with federal 210 primers, 36.5gr of W748 behind Sierra 150gr round nose bullets. It's accurate and has a muzzle velocity averaging 2310fps from a 20" barrel.

catboat32.0/WW748 + Speer 170 flat point. True MOA in my 1970's Marlin 336A.
Never chronographed it, guessing 2050 - 2100 fps.
