76.5 grains imr 7828 under a nosler 150 balistic tip. 3250 fps. 5 shot group at 100 yards miked at .55" out of a remington sendaro. The 140's shoot even better with 73 grains of imr 4350, but I like the heavier bullet.

Has anbody tried the new and improved retumbo with 140 or 150 gr bullets in the 7 STW? Curious about the 140 gr failsafe in this round Thanks.

75gr. of RL19 under 150gr. b-tips are clocking a whisker over 3300fps out of my Winchester Super Grade. 120 yard 4 shot groups can be covered by a nickle.

I'm extremely happy with my STW. [Big Grin]

I shoot 71.7 grains of H4831 behind a 139 gr. Hornady SST, and get .5 inch groups, and killed my buck in a hurry this year. Love this gun, just don't like the recoil! I shoot a SAvage model 116 weather warrior.

That's strange, my model 70 weighs in at about 9lbs. fully dressed and recoil is fairly light. I kinda figured they were all that way.

On the subject of recoil, my Savage 7mm STW weighs 6.5 pounds, plus the weight of a simmons
3-9x40 scope, so it is a fairly light outfit. Also, I am 5'7" and weigh 150, FWIW.
