Favorite load for the 257 Roberts

My favorite load for the 257 Roberts is 50 grains of RL 19 behind a 100 grain Nosler Partition. Yields 3200 fps from my Ruger M77 Mark II.

The one that has worked best for me is a stiff load of H4831 behind a 120 gr Nosler Solid Base (discontinued bullet) Velocity is about 2990 fps. I'm still mad a Nosler for changing to the Ballistic Tip! Jim

Yeah, my favorite whitetail bullet was the 130gr solid base in my .270win

Mine likes the 115 grain Nosler ballistic tip in front of H414 powder.

My 257 RAI has clocked a 75 gr Vmax at 3940 fps, but the brass is only good once with that IMR4895 load.

Long brass life is at 3750 fps and below.

Accuracy is at 3630 fps.
