120gr load for 250 ackley improved
I was wondering what load has worked best for my 250 ai with a 120gr bullet. I usually shoot an 85 or 87gr bullet, but would like to see what a bigger gr of bullet would do. Any sugestions

Fort Stockton:

By the By, do you have any water in that country? We have people selling cows for lack of drinking water.

I use the .257AI for Canadian whitetails and local antelope. I use 100gr for the antelope and 120 gr for the larger whitetail. my experience suggests that the 100gr would work very well on the whitetail but I got a good buy on the 120 gr Speers, so that is what I use.

The load is 50gr of H4831. It runs about 2900 ft/sec and a 120gr Grand Slam. I have had no problems with case splits or pressure.

The gun is a K98 on an inexpensive Shaw barrel. The wood on this gun cost more than the action and barrel!
