Re: H 4895
Tally makes a nice set of one piece aluminum base/rings for the 84M. I put them on my Rem 700 Ti 7mm-08 last year and really like them. My brother plans on putting them on his 84M 7mm-08 during this off season.

My results (chronographed)

7mm-08 Winchester Case, CCI 200 Primer, 139 Horady SST

IMR4895 40.5 2650 very accurate (.75" or less)
H4895 40.5 2750 very accurate (.75" or less)
I can get more velosity out of each but the accuracy suffers.

My best results are from H4l4.

It's all I use in my wife's CZ .223. 26.5 grs and Sierra 50 gr Blitz bullets gets me a bit over 3,200 fps and 0.70" to 0.80" 5-shot groups @ 100 yds. This is also Ken Water's favorite .223 powder.

Gonzo,
I can see where you think IMR is a pain to meter. However, I use Lee powder dippers instead. I don't care for the powder measurers.

Normally tho, I get more consistent accuracy with IMR.

Cheers and good shooting

I've used H4895 in the WinMag as a "Hodgdon Youth Load" and in the 06 as well.

For the WinMag: 45gr, 130gr Hornady SP and WLR primer
For the 06: 51gr, 125gr Nosler Ballistic Tip and WLR primer

Both loads were good for 1MOA. The 06 load was great for the 440-yard gong, as you can easily spot your own hits.

I prefer it partly because of the shorter grain. IMR powders have been a PITA to meter and I have not gotten into weighing each charge and trickling.
