1/2 MOA
Looking for Accurate 300 Rem UM Reloads
I've been trying to find a reload capable of shooting less than 1/2 MOA. Has anyone had any great successes in locating a powder/bullet/primer combination that I might try?

Has anyone had trouble with severe copper fouling with the 300 UM, or is it just me. I had a ton of smithing done on this weapon (lugs lapped, barrel hand lapped, bolt-face squared, trigger work, target crown and bedding done). Still seems like I'm getting a tremendous amount of copper fouling after minimal benchrest shooting. Any ideas for better/faster cleaning than BBS and SC Copper Solvent?

I've now developed loads for 2 different .300 Remington Ultra Mags and one 7mm RUM, and all 3 displayed a decided preference for Re-22. Out of the box, these recent-production Rem 700s were not capable of acceptable accuracy, but after a little work & load development, loads encroaching into the 0.5 MOA range were possible.

I won't list the specific loads here as I have noticed quite a discrepancy in checking RUM chambers, and with one rifle, the listed "max" load in one manual would have been over the rifle's max by at least 2.5-3 grains.

Almost all 300 RUM that I have encountered, have loved Reloader 25, using 180gr. bullets.
Mine liked it...alot!!
Sierra MK 180gr.
RL 25 93gr. (Start lower!)
Fed. 215M primer
I like to use SMK's or an equivalent, to determine accuracy.
190gr.-200gr. bullets, try Retumbo or as previously posted, H1000.
Let us know your results!!...sakofan..

I've had excellent results in my rum w/159 groove bullet over 93grns of rel 22/ and 98grs rel 25
groups average 3/4" with velocity between 3460 and 3550 for the 25

Oh ya, these loads are max in my rifle-drop 4grns and workup!

200gr matchking for both of these

88.0gr H1000 seat at the lands
86.5gr RL25 seat at the lands

I got .25moa with both of these,..but my rifle is far from box-stock. This load is my load,..so be careful. However you will find that they are both WELL below max,..and I havn't loaded up further yet.

RL 25 works very well 180 gr X bullets in my rifle. I've done some testing with Retumbo and preliminary results look like groups are even better.

I have had good results using 210 grain Berger bullets and 87 grains of Reloader 25 and Fed 215 match primers, seated just off the lands. This load is not max but look closely before you load too many. The rifle is a 700 Rem Senduro with a Vias brake. My five shot group ave. in several 1000yd factory class matches is 11 inches, with some groups as small as 8.5 and some as large as 15 inches.
