load data is available at several sites. hogden
viht. Depends what you plan on shooting....paper or sporting...intermediate or long range. I have a 700 for deer hunting using 100 nosler. Very fast accurate and lethal. I use IMR 4350.....but am also going to try vvn 165 for 140's.

Take a look at Ramshot Hunter. Very dense ball powder without temperature sensitivity issues. 950 grams per liter so metering will be exceptional. Standard deviations listed for the 6.5 X .284 are outstanding and single digit. Velocity is very good. I plan to add the chambering and this is the powder I will load it with. Wink

With 140/142's in my Rem/Hart I go with IMR 4350 and 4831, or R22, loaded to Max for me they fly very well, killed Pdogs to 1250 and narly at 1500 yds. Velocity in the 3050 area.

Here it is 52.0 grs of IMR-4350 140 gr speer Flat Base or you can also try 54.0 grs of IMR-4350 with a 129 hornady Flat Base or 120 Noslers. I tried 56.0 grs with a 100gr sierra H.P rifle didn't like them a bit. My rifle has a 26 in Stainless Pac-Nor barrel and it is on 98 mauser. Don't go over these loads cause these are max my bolt started sticking when I increased it to 54.5grs with the 129

323 I can believe the bolt sticking at that load. However I have used 53 gr imr 4350 with a 120 sierra with no pressure signs but still believe I am close enough to max at that load.

Woodhick I'll give you what I have from the book. This is for the 6.5-284 norma .297 neck.
nosler 120 bt 50.5 gr max of IMR 4350. Nosler 125 partition 50 gr. max IMR 4350. only loads I have tried in 140 was 139 scenar not moly coated 52 grains H4831SC. I would not go over this charge and start all atleast 5% lower. As your rifle and chamber may differ greatly from my own I take no responsibilities whatsoever that you do with this data.

Yes it is true and witnessed. Rifle isn't for sale though Big Grin

Mine isn't the only one to shoot this well.

Mine likes AA4350 with between 48 and 53 grains and Sierra (either match or hunting) 120 grain bullets or 120 NBT. Mine is a 20" MRC #1 barrel with a 1-in-9" twist. Shoots 1/2" consistantly.
