Tim5035 Remington Rifle Loads
I recently picked up a Remington 7-KS in 35 Remington with a 20 inch barrel. I was hoping that someone could help me with some loads. I want to go with the heavier pointed bullets (225 gr) but I am open to your suggestions. Give me your favorite load. I will be hunting Pennsylvania whitetail & Black bear. Thanks for looking. Any input would be greatly appreciated......

<Hook67>Tim, are you wanting to maintain the industry standard pressures or juice your loads higher because of the stronger action you are loading for. When I acquired my M600 Remington in 35 Rem, I decided I needed to turn it into a baby 358 Win. I found an old article that has heavy loads for the stronger actions and loaded 200 grain RNs and SPs hot enough to get your attention in the light carbine. E-mail me if you'd like a copy of the article. I have since decided that the original loadings in 35 Rem do well enough to not try to make it into something it ain't. It has penetrated nearly three feet of deer on two occasions. Once, I shot a medium buck head on and found a perfectly mushroomed bullet under the skin in the hind quarter. This past season, my preacher shot a doe going away with the M600 and got complete penetration. The bullet from the buck mentioned above has been the only bullet I've ever recovered from a 35 Rem.

Hillbilly HunterI built myself a mod 7 35 rem - stainless action,Shillen 21" barrel,a nice ,trim short pull lam stock. Factory Rem and Win 200 gr loads clocked 1950/1975 fps. My handloads have reached 2350 fps with 200 gr Hornadys. My accuracy/hunting load does 2175 and is sub moa. Re-7 and AA 2015br are first rate powders. Haven't tried 225 or 250 gr jacketed but cast bullets work great up to 1900 or so.
