I just acquired a Remington 700 LSS in .257 Wby.

In referring to some ballistics data, it appears that the Nosler 110 gr. Accubond may be my bullet of choice given the BC of .418 with a 275 yard zero at 3375 FPS yields +/- 2.55" out to about 325 yards. Not being a big reloader, I prefer to keep it fairly simple.

Any thoughts/loads would be much appriciated.

I have owned 2 rifles in .257 Weatherby, presently a custom Ruger single shot......both have been very accurate and FAST with 72 grains of RL22 under a 100 gr. Barnes TSX, with Federal 215 primers. The load is like a sledge-hammer on mule deer, blacktails, and big hogs!

I have two 257s too. They both shot RL25 73.5grs. and 100 grn TSX. Elk and deer do not like the load but I do.

I used the Nosler 110 gr. Accubond and only using IMR 4350, found 62 grains consistantly producing 5/8" groups at 100 yards. This is certainly adequate for my intended use.

We have an extended antlerless deer season here in Va., so yesterday decided to take a mature doe at 262 yards. She fell as if she had been struck with the hammer of Thor. Off to Kenny Jarret's S.C. plantation for a hog hunt this week. I should be ready.

What is you're C.O.A.L for you're Model 700 LSS in .257 WM. It seems that the Remington has quite a bit of freebore? Barnes reloading manual calls for 3.170 and Nosler calls for 3.170 C.O.A.L. However, Weatherby states that for the 257WM it's 3.250. Just curious to see what type of accuracy everyone is getting with the bullet having such a large jump to the riflings.

I shoot the 100 grain Ballistic Tip and 100 grain TSX in a couple .257s. Loads with both bullets are 67 grains of IMR4831 in one rifle and 68 grains in the other. COL is 3.333 with the Ballistic Tips and 3.265" for the TSX.
Assuming that the barrel is kept cool, 1/2" 3 shot groups are commonplace with the TSXs. The BTs are close.Averages with both are a bit higher of course.
Oddly enough my attempts with 110 Accubonds were very disappointing.

C.O.A.L. in my Remington is 3.38

I seated the Accubond back just barely enough that the bullet does not contact the lands.

I rechecked my C.O.A.L in my 257 WM and came up with 3.40 using 115 grain TSX. With that said I don't know if I'm doing the measurement correct.

I took a cleaning rod and pushed it down the barrel until it stopped at the bolt then marked at the muzzle, and then put the 115 grain TSX bullet into the barrel then held it in place with a small arrow. Put the cleaning rod down the barrel and then marked it when it touched the bullet, then measured between the two marks giving me my C.O.A.L for that bullet. Every bullet will be a different C.O.A.L.

after trying with Re22 and IMR 7828 (I love those powders in 7mm and 300 mags), My rifle simply wasn't shooting those powders to my satisfaction (100 Gr Nosler BT, Moly'd)
Switched to h4831. My loads are a bit over nosler's max, but no signs of pressure in my rifle (Win 70 push-feed, 26" Shilen barrel) Fantastic accuracy (as posted before, 1/2 inch groups are the norm now...)

73grs of '22 in a R/P 7Wby hull under a 100X,has been dynamite in all of my 257Wby's.
