swampshooterI use a maximum load of H-110 or 296, will give 100 fps more velocity at comparable pressures out of a handgun. Accuracy is excellant out of my 14" Contender. For more info go to Hodgdon's web site.

kingdI know you were looking for 240grn loads, but I have been shooting 300grn Castcore WFNGC's using 19-19.5 grns of H110 out of my Win. Trapper. At 100 yds they will cut 1 hole. I have killed several hogs w/ this load. DRT! My Trapper just loves them. Just my 2 cents. Hope you find a good load for your Marlin. Good hunting!

Jim BrainardI have had good results with the 270 grain Speer Gold Dot using 296 or Lilgun. Lilgun gets higher velocity with lower pressures. Jim

GerryI use a max. charge of W-W 296 w/Speer Half-Jacketed 240 gr. Hollow Points w/hefty crimp.
Also Unique (8.0-10.0grs.) w/pretty much any lead 240 gr. SWC or H&N (German) copper-plated lead bullets.
I worked both these loads in the Ruger New Model 44 Mag. revolver first & then tried them in the rifle. Low & behold the Marlin loves 'em ,too!
Great pair!
