9.3x74R Loads
I am looking for some cast bullet loads for my 9.3x74R rifles. I have some 199gr .366Dia FP and 270 gr FNGC. 367 Dia. Any sugestions? Looking for target loads and loads that can be used on white tails.
Thank You

I have loaded up a half box of 270Gr. GC, FN .367Dia.Cast bullets with 15 gr. of Trail Boss, the other half are loaded with the same bullet and 14 gr. of Trail Boss. I am using new Norma brass and Winchester large rifle primers. I will be trying them out in the next week or so & I will set up my conograph, and see how they do. I plan on using them in my Kreighoff Ultra 20 and a Ruger #1. I will post the results as soon as I test them.

How did your loads turn out for you?

Didnt have good luck with Norma brass in my 9,3. Experienced head separations on new unfired brass first time I used them and the load is considered light to medium. Switched to RWS brass and all is well.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Sarge,
I've got an old Lyman mould that throws about 255 grainers. I shoot them as cast with Alox with 17 grains of Trail Boss. I use this in both S&B and Norma brass. With open sights, I get about 2 1/2 inch groups at fifty yards in my drilling. It does not regulate in my Chapuis. This was the load that I got from the powder manufacturer. I have not chronographed these. I've gone up a little, and it does not shoot as well. Recoil is mild.
I've had no problem with brass, but I've adjusted my sizing die so my shells are a snug fit when I chamber them.
Hope this helps. As always, and especially with the 9.3x74 every rifle is an entity unto itself.
