Glocksig6mm Rem Nosler 80gr loads?
I'll be taking delivery of my 6mm Remington project shortly. It's an m40a1 copy (1 in 9 schneider barrel) to be used for prairie dogs and groundhogs. I have a supply of remington brass, fed 210's and a box of Nosler 80gr ballistic tips that I'd like to start with.
I'd like to see if any of you have some loads worked up with this combo. I'd like to be able to reach out and touch with this one as my .204 is fine for everything else.
Thanks!

Rob1SGMy 6mm Rem accuracy loads are with Berger 80 gr using RL 19. IMR 4831 or 4350 are also good powders for 80 gr and above.

R FlowersI have a custom 6mm Remington that was built on a Remington 700 action. It has a 26 inch Shilen SS barrel with a 1 in 12 twist. I went with the 1 in 12 twist for nostalgic reasons, I learned to shoot with an old Remington 722 chambered in .244 Remington.
The best load I tried with the 80 grain Nosler Ballistic tip was as follows:
W-W case
Fed 210M primer
46.5 grains H 4350
Nosler 80 BT
velocity 3458 fps
groups were repeatedly 0.5 inches for 5 shots
Hope this helps, RF

GlocksigThanks for the input, as it turns out it doesn't like the Noslers. However it shoots the Berger 80 g over 41.5 of 4064 into one hole at 100 yards, needless to say I've found my load. I'm getting 3450 fps out of this load. Bring on the groundhogs and p dogs!

seafire2work up in your rifle...
but 47.5 grains of H 414
or 47 grains of RL 19....
I have used 4064 a little hotter than your load, but mine is on a long action and the bullet is seated relatively far out of the case, magazine length on a Model 700...

Bill ThibeaultThis load is sub-MOA in my 6mm Rem Ruger #1:
47.2 grains IMR 4831
Sierra 75 grain HP "Varminter" bullet
W-W case
Rem 9 1/2 primer
C.O.A.L. = 2.850"
Velocity = 3,600 FPS
What it does to ground hogs is purely awesome.

LE270My 6mm Rem is persnickety about what powder it likes. Regardless of bullet weight, my best loads for it have been with IMR 4064. For an 80 grain bullet I'd try 39 to 41 grains of it.
