Posted reference for .223 Ackley Improved load data go days and days with no response. Links to .223 AI forums go un-read, or at least un-remarked.

What's the story??? This some kind of screwed up, bastard caliber. Something egregiously wrong with this wildcat???

How much can't you improve a .223? The case body is quite straight as it is and shoulder is sharp enough. The neck is so short now that there is not much left with the original.

There is plenty of "improvement" going on with just the choices of twists and long and short bullets.

Too bad that case was selected for the military cartridge. But that's what it is, a military cartridge. It does have a nich for certain varmint shooting, target and plinking.

I wish that the .25 Remington had been selected. I always felt that way. One necked to 6mm would be just right.

Have you ever seen a .224 Lindhal Chucker? It's one of the neatest looking cartridges ever designed.

check out varmint hunter magizineissue#21 steve timm articile on ack.223 steve love;s this caliber here are some of his load;s40gr nosler bt.30.3 h-335 3900muzzle vel. .42at 100yds. next50gr.nosler bt 28.5h-335 3601muzzle vel. .27at 100 yds. if i ever where out my 700vssf 223 i;am sure going to try a 223ack.
