daniel77Back from the Lufkin Tx Fall Sale
and horses are still half price. This sale has a ranch gelding only section on Friday and everything else on Sat and Sun. There is also a competition for the top 20 geldings where they can win (1st) $2650 cash, buckle and a trailer for a year, (2nd)saddle, $1200, and a buckle, and (3rd) $650 cash, buckle, and breast collar. The top four or five from the competition will generally bring from 12-20k. This year top seller (which was PO'd) brought $9500.
I brought a big, stout, pretty 9yr old flea bitten gray (old Mexico X truck and trailer) that had been team penned, sorted, and barrel raced on. He needed a better handle, but I could have had him fixed up just how I want him in 60 days. I actually considered buying him myself for my wife, but didn't want to spend the $$$ right now. Apparently, I'm not alone. He brought $1400
When, oh when, are horses gonna be worth the expense of feeding them again?
