BuffHunter63Kentucky Horse Park
Spent a day at the KY Horse Park in Lexington.
Definitely worth the time and money for anyone interested in Equines.
Things I saw:
a 19.1 hand, 2000 lb Percheron,
a KY Derby Winner,
a quarter horse that was clocked at 54 MPH,
a man that actually rode Man O'War.
and lots of different breeds of horses.

KY NimrodIf you ever get to Kentucky in middle April go to the Land Rover Three Day Event at the KY Horse Park. Its an amazing display of horse and rider at the highest level. Its also a qualifying event for the Olympics. Cross Country, Stadium Jumping and Dressage. Even if you are a cowboy/roper its amazing to see what a horse can do in competent hands.
If you can't come they broadcast all three days on cable TV

I make a point to try that.
BTW What part of KY do you hail from?
I currently live in CO, but I was raised in Madisonville.

KY NimrodLive in Louisville and work in Elizabethtown...
If you watch some of the highlights from the cross country event...the smallest jump on that course is 4 feet high and many are downhill...the one into the pond has an 8 foot drop off the bank! There's more than a few horse and rider that get wet the hard way....

dpcdYes it is an interesting place; I was at Ft Knox for a few years and went to the park a couple of times.
And I gave up on horses when I turned 16 and they invented cars. Horses are stupid and dangerous.

No offense, but I was always taught that horses accurately reflect the skill of their riders/trainers.
I've found horses, in some ways, to be like women, many of them are beautiful, but can wreak all kinds of havoc if not treated with the proper respect and skill!

raamwI enjoyed the house of Champions and the draft horse sable, 1st class operation, once a working Horse ranch State took it over and a perfect place to donate horses of merit
