Cartucho diseñado en colaboración entre Ronald A. Berry (EE.UU.) y Michael Uekötter (Alemania).

Es tambien conocido con el seudónimo de: .49"-10 Mag. (abreviatura de) :49-bore/500 caliber/338 Lapua Mag. Improved.

La vaina está basada en la del .338 Lapua Mag.

La vainas se pueden fabricar por fire forming, o con dispositivos adecuados para conformarla.

Hasta ahora, solo hay dos tipos de armas recamaradas para este cartucho: el Winchester M70 y el rifle BRNO ZKK 602.
