OverkillNews about the .600 OK
Robgunbuilder!
Have you shoot the .600 OK-1 with harder loads? What velocity?
When are you going to build a .600 OK-2?
Thanks!

500grainsAny word from when Mr. Horneber will finish up?

RobgunbuilderThe 600 ok-1 is up to 2250fps with 165 grs of IMR-7828 and the 900 Gr Woodleigh. Cases don't show any stickiness and have now been reloaded 3 times. The Lathe turned brass is hella strong! You would not believe what it does to 1 gallon water jugs! Literally vaporizes them. Accuracy is everything you could hope for also. One hole at 50 yrds offhand is the norm. I can shoot this thing unbelievably well as the recoil is totally manageable.
Horneber promised me brass three weeks ago. I intend to call him again tomorrow.-Rob

OverkillSo around 2300 fps is max for the .600 OK-1??? How much powder does it take? and how much more does the 0K-2 take?
Thanks!

GrandpasezOverkill- 2300 is not the max for 600OK.It will
do at least 200 fps more but Rob will have to use
drawn brass to get there safely. He is using a relatively slow powder now for safety. He gets a drawn case full of H-414 or WW-760, it will get interesting. The Ok-2 will hold about 10% more powder.Ed.

OverkillSo the .600 OK-2 take 10% more powder than the .600 OK-1.The OK-2 will get a high veloicty with a 28 inch barrel.. Around 2600-2700 or what???

RobgunbuilderOvekill- I'll let you shoot it at 2700fps! Take a flight over the pond and let's do some videos of your accomplishment. I'll have some brass from Horneber in a week or so.-Rob

OverkillI would shoot it at 2700 fps if I could be there

But I now think that I would be afraid before I pull the trigger

500grainsOverkill,
What percentage faster will a moose die if you shoot him with 900 grains at 2700 fps instead of 900 grains at 2500 fps?

Overkill500grains!
A 900 grainer at 2700 FPS because it will expand more.

LoneEagleOn this subject can I just say OUCH! I ran some numbers through a recoil calculator OUCH twice. 12lb rifle(?), 900 gr bullet, 168 gr of Powder(?), 2700 fps= 273.96 ft/lbs of recoil. Ouch again. But I sure bet it would be fun
