LionHunterYes. I used the Warne QD on my RSM .458Lott.

AzGuyDo the std rings that come with RSM come anywhere close to "return to zero" when taken off and then replaced?

Yes, pretty close. Maybe 1 to 2 MOA max. But have been about .75 mostly for me the 2 times I tried it. But more hassle.

BuliwyfTalley does not. Warne does. Yes, the factory Ruger return to zero.

JPKI think he was referring to the fact that Warne makes Ruger QD's and Talley does not.
On the issue of Talley QD's returning to zero, one set didn't on my 375H&H. If I sighted in and then swithced to a fresh target, shoot three, I hit bull (or where I sighted in, say, 2" high, etc.) take the scope off and remount, shoot three again.... Eventually I would end up with a rectangular box of a pattern, about 2" high and 3" wide, at 100yds. These were 1" mounts. Since then I've switched scopes and rings to 30mm, but haven't tried the experiment again, yet.
BTW, no anount of changing the mounting and tightening regimine improved results. And the rifle is partucularly accurate, so it wasn't the rifle. If I left the mounts alone, it would keep shooting very well.
I think 2"-3" is good enough for most applications, but not for leopard hunting.
