buffaloI agree with 458 Win / Phil Shoemaker.
I have just fallen so hopelessly in love with my new 375 Ruger Alaskan. I got a new McMillan stock on it yesterday, bedded and ready 2 go hunting

My 416 Wby - which has always been my favorite - has got a serious competitor.. The 416 is 7 inches longer than the little 375 Ruger and weighs several ibs more. The Ruger is on the good side of 8 Ibs. Recoil is sweet compared to the 416 Wby and it is very accurate. Hmmm.. - I think I know which rifle which will go with me to Alaska in 2011...

RockdocI have a couple of 375H&H's. My 8.25 pound H&H is a sweet rifle to shoot, open sights only. My Mod70 Classisc Safari Express with scope weighs heaps more and is a pig to shoot.
IMHO weight takes a big back seat to stock fit and balance. But lighter is better for me, up to a point.
What is the best synthetic stock for this rifle. It's time it went on a diet

I want to get the barrel turned down and light stock. Then cerakote and it will be right.
Cheers, Chris
