I'm having trouble finding low scope rings for my CZ rifles. Every body makes a medium, and with those (.400 height), I can't get my cheek bone down on the comb. I'm not adverse to drilling and tapping, but with a base on top of the square bridges, then rings, I'm going in the wrong direction. I've even looked into some of the rings that are one piece with the base, but the ones with flat bottoms for such as the Marlin lever rifles only come in medium. Stymied at every turn.

Try a higher comb to get a better cheek weld. If you like it, restocking may be in your future. The lowest rings are supposed to be the Talleys.

Watch our bolt handle clearance on anything lower than Medium height rings.

We've been through this many times before.
I have posted pictures of the discontinued Warne Low QD rings for the CZ. The Leupold 2.5X "micro-ocular-bell" is the only scope I have that will allow the bolt to work on a CZ with mounts that low.
Even putting a plastic scope cover (Storm Queen, etc.) on the ocular bell will block the bolt handle in rearward travel.

Use the medium height rings and get a new stock or a fatter face, if you want to use any scope with an ocular bell bigger than the 2.5X Leupold.

I actually like the stock on my 9.3x62. I can't say the same for the wood on my Lott.

Build it up with layers of moleskin and slip a cartridge carrier over it to get cheek-weld. That way you can be shooting while you wait on a properly fit stock.

I really want to give it a work out. A couple of years ago, I bought a 1000 Prvi Partizan 285 grainers from Grafs. They were cheap and the proper weight to learn it's field characteristics. No feral hog would know it wasn't a premium bullet.

Ditto's, there is nothing out there that is any lower than Leupold's med or talley's basically same height.

Brownells sells a "stick on" pad of various heights. I too have been looking for more comb height or low mount rings. I have a Leupold Euro 30 scope on my 375 H&H CZ 550, and it has plenty of room for the bolt. My next step is the "sticky pads". Just watch out for bolt clearance over the comb, especially with a long throw bolt like the 375 in the stock 550.

I put the Leopole High rings on my 458 Lott and they work just fine.
I have a Burris 1 3/4 X 5 on it.

I think the obvious is that no low rings are available for the CZ's because the bolt handle will not clear in that configuration. I had to go to high Warne QD's on my 550FS to clear my new Trijicon scope. Shot it some last weekend and it seems OK, but have a feeling I am moving my head up off the stock a bit?? Contemplating having the bolt handle bent, but am only 90 days away from a trip to MOZ. My other scope a Zeiss is sighted in with Med Warne rings and will go along anyway. Wanted the Trijicon for Leopard.

I beleive the AHR level I up grade is a new (lower)bolt handle, bolt mounted M70 like safety and some action/feed work. American Hunting Rifles. And the cost is around $500 for the package but I also pretty sure you could just get the bolt handle.

Just seconding your idea.

Here is the upturned, hollow-knobbed CZ 550 Magnum bolt, with the discontinued Warne Low rings, and a Leupold 2.5X scope. This works, just barely:

Selous Plates ain't got nothing over a "Thor's Iron Glove" grip treatment.

That BBK-02 has steel Weaver bases screwed and epoxied onto the square bridges and the lowest of QRW rings to hold the scope. Bolt handle clears on more than just a 2.5X Leupold.
That laminate stock is imbedded with 5 different steel bolts in three axes and coated inside and out with clear epoxy applied with a paint brush.
Yep, I did all the stock work myself.
I am not allergic to epoxy.

The M98M needs German claws ... but that would require a new safety instead of the Mauser Flag ...
Oh well ... I can still see that big bead, and it has a fixed-flat-top-single-leaf rear with a U-notch ...
And is spot on with my handloads, and easy carry at 9.5 pounds with no scope.
