QD rings, remount forward or remount back...?
When remounting QD rings on a rifle, there is always a little 'slack'. To attain 'zero' with the greatest consistency, is it better to remount the scope and push the scope forward in the slack, or pull it back? Does the use of a muzzle brake make a difference? Does the recoil 'slide' the scope forward or backward?

Absolutely correct. Dont know where I have heard it, but one should always push the scope forward at remounting, then first tighten the rearward ring. Why - dont know??

Good shooting! H

forward, otherwise recoil will move it forward.
