The Winchester M70 type; seems pretty ergonomic for a rifle with iron sights. I’ve seen then offered from time to time. Has anyone used one? Like or hate?
I got used to the right hand Model 70 type many decades ago and don't want to switch sides now.
So, not hate the idea, just no need for it.
I have installed left handers on LH rifles; they are awkward for the right thumb to operate. Your hand has to lift up from the grip unless you have Bonobo thumbs.
Ok, hate.

458WinThe low flag safety on the left side of old Sako and FN actions was my favorite as it felt a lot more user friendly and quicker for a right handed user.
Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

p dog shooterAlways thought the safety should be on the left side.
One doesn't have to switch hand positions to use then.
Some users feel this is a more natural position for safety operation on a DG rifle as the safety can be operated without taking your hand off the grip. Writers like the late ‘Ganyana’ mentioned this in articles.
As it turns out Recknagel make a safety like that for RH 98’s. NECG list them on their site:

kda55I have a Satterlee on an FN and can tell you it is not as easy getting to it under the scope to release silently. No scope, no problem.

LongwalkerI slightly prefer the safety on the left, especially when using iron sights, but have only used low "flag " type safeties set up that way, not M70 style. I have several rifles with a M70 style safety on the right side and they work OK too. I think for me it's a little quicker and more intuitive on the left, but not a strong preference.

AtkinsonIve always liked the left hand safety on the Brno mod 21 and 22, although I do roll them and bend them down a tad to not butt up against the scope..Nice handy set up and quick..
I think a 2 stage mod 70 safety on the left side would be ideal, but the 3 position safetys travel would seem to me awkward for the right thumb to operate well??????
For what its worth I found the hammer safety on an Enfield the best ever on a DG rifle..I,d like to see something on that order for Mausers and pre 64s..but doubt that will come about.
