Does anyone have any experience using the Hirtenberger ABC bullets on African game (or on any game, for that matter)? These bullets, in Hirtenberger factory loads (272 grains at 2,644 fps), shoot into very small groups from my .375 H&H Magnum rifle. The bullet's construction seems to be nearly the same as that of the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw--soft nose, bonded lead forward core, with the remainder of the bullet being constructed of gilding metal (i.e., a copper/zinc alloy). Any information on this bullet will be greatly appreciated.

I think they will work great in Africa. Why do you think they should work??

They are very well constructed and though. I have an friend who has used them on grizzly, elk and black brear, exellent performance every time.
I have use them in 7X57 on roe deer and red stag, I would used them again if I have the option

Thanks, Johan. I have no reason to think the ABC bullets would not work well, but I have never used them and until your kind reply I did not know anyone who had used them on game.

I am glad to hear that you and your friend like them and have had good results. I will use them on cape buffalo, lion and the large antelopes and, possibly, leopard (that is, if I am lucky).

By the way, my .375 is a Blaser R93, which is a wonderful weapon--handy, reliable and accurate. Why are you so prejudiced against Blaser?
