Gents,
Anyone doing anything with the 400 HH ?
Shooting, loading for, or hunting with.
Havn't seen much about this round since it was tossed about at this site.

Gringo CazadorI kicked around building one, but decided on a 404. I would like to build one at some point in time.
Good post, be intersting to see what kind of response you get.

AtkinsonIt was born dead, regardless of what some contended...It just had nothing to offer over a 375 or 416..albiet I would have like to have had one, but just never could bring myself to make that step, common since took over me, which is unusual....

Paul HMost of us don't understand the round, because we aren't the type of people who buy guns from H&H. They came out with the round for their clientel, and in that aspect, it fits a niche.
I know John Ricks was planning on building some, but never heard his results. His comment that I concur with is that the long neck will be very friendly to cast bullets.
I don't think anyone will argue about how smooth the gently tapered H&H case feeds. If you just have to be different, it'll certainly fill that niche.

surestrikeI've heard very little about either the .400H&H or the .465H&H since it's inception.
Are they an answer in search of a solution?
I just don't see them as ground breaking.

AtkinsonAnd it will always extract because of that taper, but so will the 375 and 416...The extraction is the real plus of the calibers on the 300 and 375 H&H case...
