quote:The traditional load with a 300 grains bullet is given at 2,530 fps. I have seen that some go as high as 2,650 fps. The PMP factory load for 300 gr Soft give 2,428 fps and their 286 gr Solid give 2,493 fps, as advertised - in the past PMP's loads were higher for the 375 H&H, but they have reduced all of them to lower pressure levels.

There are several terms for a 375 loaded beyond traditional 375 H&H velocities:
375 Weatherby
375 RUM
375/404
etc
They all work, so does a 375 H&H loaded to it's traditional velocity.

But 375 Wby with H&H ammo lets you have the option of a "slow 375" if you get excited by that.
Watching Saaed's posts on his rifles over the years he seems to have settled for a 300 grainer at about 2750 from his 375/404 and he has been down to 2600 and up through to 3100 with the 375 Lazzeroni (like a 375/416 Rigby Improved). His settling on 2750 is a big endorsement for the 375 Wby.
I can't recall a previous invite but, if you are buying, why not? Sounds like a good idea. How about the Timber Wolf Spur lunch time (13:00) tomorrow?quote:My invitation to you still stands ... have a cup of coffee with me.
