MontanaWhich one would you buy.
The new CZ American Safari 375 H&H for $650 or
a Winchester model 70 Super Express 375 H&H with Monte Carlo stock for $875-$900 stock is lovely.
Thanks,
Wayne

PCI would take the cz 550 over the m70, despite what others say it is not the best thing out there.

JoeRHad both, agree with PC, if it's the push-feed as it sounds it is, now no contest.

Bwana-beYes, get the CRF that fits you best.

MontanaOk, the Winchester is pushfeed is the CZ CRF. If not what does that leave. I am only planning on using this gun this year on the larger plains game and in a 2006 a buff. So I don't want or need an expensive gun.

OldsargeThe CZ is CRF
but it also has a triggerblock safety and that, IMO, is a serious no-no. It can be converted to side-swing safety but it will cost you over $200 for parts and labor. Once that is done, there isn't a sweeter bigbore out there for the money. On the other hand, I suspect that you can get a ready-to-go new M70 for the price of the reworked CZ. In either case, you will want to have it glass bedded and the buttstock cut-and-padded to fit you. I seriously doubt that there is a factory rifle made that is ready to use right out of the box.

shortroundIs the cz american available yet in 375?
26 February 2004, 08:05
<Timberghost>Yes! I held one today in my favorite gun store. The American stock was much favorable to that ugly humpback stock, both in service and looks. It was a .375 H&H.

AtkinsonOldSarge,
What do you see wrong with the trigger block safty on the CZ?
I have been told that the new American stock has about 5 lbs too much wood on it, not sleek and trim?? Have not seen one as yet...
