Jeff AlexanderRe: Winchester LH action availability

I'll start a new thread, asking lefties to express their wants and needs for LH big bore M-70s. George
George,
I'd like to see Winchester offer just their left-handed actions. The 3 left-handed Model 70s I have are all custom, and I've thrown away everything but the actions. They can't seem to even get them right - on each one of them, I've had to have custom scope mounts made (Modified Talley Bases) in order to have the scope pointed in the same direction as the barrel
Sell us big bore actions for around $500, and I'd buy 3 right off the bat. Jeff < !--color-->

CanadianLeftyGreat idea. I am willing to put my money where my mouth is on that one!
Anyone else?
On Monday, we should call Win. Customer service and ask for their largest jobber or wholesaler and then contact them about an order.
I suspect, however; that the jobber - wholesaler might just reply that Winchester does not do that sort of thing and they will not take our money---let's hope that I am wrong!

skl1Blue,
I'd put money up front for a .416.
I think I'd want the jobber to hold the collective money, though, to ensure that Winchester had incentive to deliver in a timely manner.
That said, I talked with customer service today (about my .338 Win Mag)and they indicated that a production run of LH guns (including .375's)was scheduled in July. They (customer service/repair shop) haven't received theirs yet, but they anticipate they'll have them soon. Don't know how this jives with what the other CSR told me the other day, but I thought I'd pass it along.

skl1Blue,
I'm afraid we're in violent agreement. I think we'd have to put up money to make anybody interested, too. Sorry I wasn't very clear in the previous post:
I was suggesting we find somebody at Lipseys or Accusport (or one of the other big distributors, with a lot of sway as you mentioned) and have them consolidate and negotiate the special left-hand run with Winchester.
But I'd like for our distributor to set up the deal where they take our order to Winchester but hold half the payment until delivery, to incentivize rapid delivery. I suppose if it was one of the two big distributors, they'd have enough pull to force a quick turnaround. If we went with the number 5 or 8 guy to get a lower price, we might want to help specify the payment schedule he negotiated with Winchester.
