AHR .450 Dakota
Guys:

I got my new .450 Dakota from AHR today and I ran out to the range tonight after dinner to fire off a few rounds. It sure kills the hell out of a milk jug Wink

I have to say that Wayne did an extraordinary job. It is just beautiful. I had them do a wood upgrade and do the fluer de lis checkering.

I blame CCMDoc for this. After I saw the .585 and .600 that Wayne built for him, I just couldn't resist.

AHR is a great operation. Custom rifles on time! The workmanship is superb and it is a fantastic company to work with.

I had them make it at ten pounds with a 23 inch barrel. I don't have a digital camera and I don't know how to post pics but Wayne did send me one. If someone can post if for me, pm me with your e-mail address and I will send it to you.

Andy
Dave,

Do you have 3 or 4 down?

Or can you load can you load a 4th from the top without pushing it down for the extractor to pick up?

I love mine. It was the first AHR 450 Dakota and has a McMillan kevlar stock but just 3 down and it wont snap over a 4th ctg.

PS Yours is alot prettier than mine!

Andy:

I didn't load if full at the range tonight. My assumption is that it is just like my CZ .416 Rigby, that is it will hold three down right?

Andy,

I got mine from Safari Kid and it will hold three and snap over a fourth. It ain't near as pretty as Dave's, but I beat him and his to Africa and got my buffalo first. He'll probably shoot one half an inch bigger just to show me up!!

Congratulation Dave beer It never gets old seeing AHR's beauties. That is one damn fine looking rifle. Great wood and design. You will grow to love that stock design on the heavies. That 450 caliber is getting to me Wink
