Re: New 416 taylor in the makings
I'll be shooting 350's first I have a box of speer and one of barnes X bullets to try. I am going with alonger barrel then 22 at leat a 23 if not longer. I just have never been one to ring the vel out of shorter barrels that other people do. Talked to my smith today I am taking it up to him on thursday. He is about a hr away so well just have to wait until I have the time to do it.

At 1.70 each plus shipping I don't need brass that says 416 talyor on it.Maybe if I go overseas and there mght be some question on it. I would buy a couple of box's of it. If the price was with in 10 to 15 percent of 458 brass I would buy some. But it is way over priced.

PD--yeah I like the just because also-just because has cost me plenty of money....grins. I started my project by getting a threaded tube from a good tube builder for a mear $100-it digressed from there as you may imagine.

My Taylor had a nice 25" tube on it-it never went accross the pond but it did pound the hell out of pd's/chucks/yotes/porky's/ and an occaisional antelope. It was darn adequate rifle for said purposes!
