500grainsRe: Husqvarna mauser 98 question
Thank you gentlemen!

500grainsWere the Husqvarna mauser 98's made by FN and just stamped with the Husqvarna crest, or were they machined from scratch by Husqvarna?

NickuduI believe that, for a brief time, Husqvarna built a number of rifles on M98 actions from FN.

Matt NormanI've heard a couple stories about this, none of which I can attest to. One is that Sweden continued to do business with Germany during the Nazi years and obtained some commercial 98 actions from them. Another is that they bought their own 98 tooling and manufactured their own. Contact Steve Bruns (sbhva@aol.com) as he is quite knowlegeable about such things, particularly the post war Husqvarna rifles imported by Tradewinds.

<JOHAN>Gentlemen
The 640 series rifles were built on imported actions from FN.
The 1640 Series rifles were built on "in house" made action, which in my opinion is fake mauser...

Quail WingMy impression is that they were machined from scratch. But I think that point is still open. Take a look here:

Nickudu"Between 1937 and 1941, Husqvarna also built some rifles on an FN-made m/98 action. These were Model 146 in 9,3x57 and 246 in 9,3x62."

hartQuail Wing, from that site it says:
"Between 1937 and 1941, Husqvarna also built some rifles on an FN-made m/98 action.
These were Model 146 in 9,3x57 and 246 in 9,3x62."
The model 46 was a 96 Mauser action and not a 98 Mauser.
Nickudu, I should have flipped to the next page and seen that you already answered to QW's post.
