Will the existing Express sight base on the barrel obscure the field of view when using the peep sight?

And what front sight are you all using?

Amazing how easy it is to shoot with the peep sight!

They mount to scope bases and on my CZ the rear bridge...the rear sight will probably be in the way on my rifle...and i'm going to try useing it with the factory front sight....I really like them....

Yes, the factory rear sight should be removed. I use the front sight NECG sells for the CZ. It is a Sour Dough Patridge, basically a straight post. It requires just a little be of adjusting to fit it into the factory front sight slot.

Head Trauma

I have this sight on 2 of my CZ's and really like it. It seems odd (to me at least) that the sight post is at the front of the sight base rather than the rear. I modified the locking plates on the sides to permit installation with the sight post at the rear, like it better that way.

Hello Husky! Was it your ZG that was in Vapentidnigen a couple of years ago? It sure was a sweet rifle! When you mount the peep, do you have to take off the standardsight?

I thought so too and did the same modfication to one of them, but I don't think it is worth the effort, IMO.

I think the aperture is too small. I had mine bored out and it is closer to a true ghost ring now.

Mike, do you mind if I ask what size you drilled it out to? I use a Lyman without the insert & find that about right but its locked away now, just interested to know what solution you reached.

I can answer the question, sort of. When you look at the NECG aperture you will see that there is an outside band that steps down to the flat plate in which the aperture hole is drilled. I had it drilled out to remove that flat plate; in other words, I had it drilled out all the way to the edge of the larger outer band. If you look at one of the sights it is alot easier to see and understand than it is to understand based on reading my crummy explanation above. Hope that helps.

it is mentioned in the description at brownell's site that the vertical adjustment is locked down with two set screws.....my question is it possible to remove the sight and replace it without losing your left to right zero? thanks in advance.....bearit....

Yes. Once adjusted for left/right you set one side and then release with just the other side to take off/put on. Mine comes back to zero.

The set screw on the left is for locking the left side screw so it doesn't move. You can then take it off by just loosening the right side screw, so when you put it back on it supposedly goes back to zero.

On one of them I drilled out the hole, flipped it 180 degrees and ground off the ears. Except for opening up the peep, probably not worth the effort.

Thanks Mike, with reference to Husky's pic above I can see clearly what you mean. I have a 30-06 length BSA hunter action which I'm thinking 416 Taylor for. It has the same dovetail as the Brnos so this is shaping as a good way to go. Just need to work out how to mill out the recoil stop on the right of the rear bridge.
